In the ARTISAN category at the British Marmalade Awards 2020, our Marmalade of Tachibana was the second Japanese to win double gold. Double Gold is the highest award given to only three marmalades worldwide. Although the fruit is small, about 3 cm, it won the hearts of the British judges with its rich aroma, ancient Japanese aroma.
Tachibana is ancient Japanese citrus that is listed as a Near Threatened species. Heda-Tachibana, which grows wild in Toda, Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is particularly rare because they do not interbreed.
we were able to make marmalade of Heda-Tachibana using Tachibana from the Toda Forestry Association, which manages the Tachibana habitat, and the headwaters of the Kakita River, given to us by Shimizu town, Suntou-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture.
The small fruit was carefully cooked over time. The moment you put the marmalade in your mouth, a strong and noble aroma will spread.
Marmalade is also available in the UK at Dalemain, Fortnum & Mason in London, and Taiwan. I am honored to be able to promote to the world the Near-Endangered Tachibana and the clear water of Kakita River in the best form of double gold.

This marmalade is made from Jabara, a fantastic fruit that is said to be effective against pollen allergies. Jabara has a unique flavor like a mixture of Cabosu and Yuzu, and it contains far more Narirutin, a flavonoid that is said to be effective in curing pollen allergies, than other citrus fruits. The water used is from the source of the Kakita River (provided by Shimizu Town in Numazu City), where the underflow water of Mt. Fuji springs up. Please try this delicious hay fever remedy.
